Giving (generosity, charity), is something that radiates from the heart of God, our Creator. In the creation account of Genesis, chapters 1 and 2, God created everything before He made man, thus giving man everything he needed. The greatest exhibition of giving is seen through God's gift of a Savior for a world lost in sin. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Giving as a form of worship from a heart of gratitude also goes back to the book of Genesis. "Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering," (Genesis 4:4).
God's people have always been characterized by giving, but the way they've given has changed over time. As the way money is exchanged changes, we at Three Waters Ministries are extending members a new way to offer their financial gifts to God.
Anyone who would like to give to Three Waters Ministries online is welcome to do so through our church website. The system makes it easy to quickly transfer money from a bank account or debit card to the church safely and securely. One-time gifts and recurring withdrawals can both be set up, and gifts can be given either to the church's general fund or a specific mission.
At Three Waters Ministries, we'll continue to take an offering during the service for people who prefer to give by cash or check. For members who'd rather transfer money electronically, though, giving through the church website is an option.
Giving is an important aspect of the Christian life. The Bible says, "In everything I showed you [by example] that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35). At Three Waters Ministries, we want to encourage all members to pray about giving and give as God leads them. For those who prefer an online way to give, the church website now offers one. Feel free to set up an account and make an offering, or contact the church for help with giving through the site.
